Apple shares the preliminary results of women’s health research: 12% of 50000 women suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome

Researchers from the Chen Zengxi College of Harvard University used the survey data of the Apple Women’s Health Research to promote the scientific understanding of persistent menstrual disorder,PCOS,endometrial hyperplasia and cancer.

In the preliminary group analysis of more than 50000 participants,the research team found that:

12%of participants reported confirmed PCOS.The risk of endometrial hyperplasia(precancerous lesions of the uterus)of participants with PCOS is more than 4 times higher than that of the normal people,and the risk of endometrial cancer is more than 2.5 times higher.

5.7%of participants reported having regular menstrual cycles at least 5 years after menarche.Compared with those who reached regular menstrual period within one year after menarche,the risk of endometrial hyperplasia was more than 2 times higher and the risk of uterine cancer was more than 3.5 times higher in this group of participants.
